The Gun Centre at Lovett's complies with all Canadian Government Laws and Regulations regarding the sale and transfer of firearms and ammunition. Our policies on specific sales are listed below. Sale of Non-Restricted Firearms:
All sales of Non-Restricted Firearms will be completed in accordance with all applicable Canadian Law. All purchasers must be in possession of a valid Canadian Non-Restricted Firearms Possession and Acquisition Licence (NRPAL). For details on what is required to hold an NRPAL please click here. Non-restricted firearm transfers will be completed online and while customers wait when at all possible. The completion of these transfers is subject to approval of the online Canadian Firearms Centre (CFC) system or through direct telephone approval and is not assured. We will make every effort to complete your transfer as expeditiously as possible.
All firearms purchased must be removed in their original manufacturers carton or a suitable gun case. Storage, transport, and display requirements are detailed here.
The buyers Transfer Notice acts as the registration certificate until the Buyer receives the final form certificate in the mail from the CFC.
Please note we are required to collect certain personal information in order to transfer your firearm and to retain this information as mandated by law.
The Gun Centre reserves the right to refuse any sale at any time.
Sale of Restricted and Prohibited Firearms:
All sales of Restricted Firearms will be completed in accordance with applicable Canadian Law. All purchasers must be in possession of a valid Canadian Restricted Firearms Possession and Acquisition Licence (RPAL). For details on what is required to hold an RPAL please click here. The purchaser must also have a valid reason for acquiring the firearm such as for target shooting (for which you must provide your club name), for collection, or for a valid occupation.
Firearm purchases must be initiated by telephone and this will be done while customers wait when at all possible. The main limiting factor is the hours of the CFC to receive calls and initiate the transfer. The completion of these transfers is subject to approval of the CFC system AND the Ontario Chief Firearms Office (CFO) and is not assured. When the transfer is approved, the CFO will fax the documents to The Gun Centre including the Authorization to Transport (ATT) and we will call you to come in and complete the transfer and pick up your firearm.
All firearms purchased must be removed in their original manufacturers case, if it locks, or a suitable lockable gun case AND they must be securely locked by a trigger lock or similar. The firearm must be accompanied by the buyer's temporary registration AND a valid ATT for the firearm. Storage, transport, and display requirements are detailed here.
Sales of Prohibited Firearms are subject to all procedures required of Restricted Firearms PLUS the purchaser must be in possession of an RPAL which indicates they can acquire the class of firearm in question.

Sale of Airguns:
The sale of airguns will be completed in accordance with all applicable Canadian Law. In the case of airguns, their status is determined by the velocity of the projectile. Please see the Canadian Firearms Centre web site for more information here.
In the case of airguns which are exempt from registration the following Policy will apply at The Gun Centre:
- Purchasors must be 18 years of age.
- Purchasors must provide valid, current Government issued photo identification bearing your home address such as a Provincial Drivers Licence.
- Purchasers information and address will be recorded.

Ammunition Sales:
All sales of ammunition will be completed in accordance with applicable Canadian Law. All purchasers must be in possession of a valid Canadian Firearms Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) or a Posession Only Licence (POL).
